WHAT IS THE WELSH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS?
The "Welsh Regional Championships" is an annual brass band competition held every March, and is one of eight regional qualifying competitions for the National Finals of the "National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain". Approximately 40 bands across five divisions - "sections" - compete to be crowned the National Champion Band of Wales in their respective section.

The Championship Section contest of the Welsh "Regionals" also acts as the qualifying competition for the European Brass Band Championships the following year. 2025 saw Tredegar Band win the Championship Section of the Welsh "Regionals", therefore gaining an invitation to represent Wales at the 2026 European Championships in Linz (Austria).
